What is LiveSwitch?
LiveSwitch is a video infrastructure tool that, if enabled in SmartMoving, will allow your moving company to conduct virtual surveys. This SmartMoving integration makes it easier than ever to create more accurate estimates by recording the inventory for a move without time consuming and costly onsite visits! Enable LiveSwitch within SmartMoving today to scale the pre-sales side of your moving business with ease.
Getting Started with LiveSwitch
To start using the LiveSwitch integration in SmartMoving, follow these steps:
Go to Settings > Integrations > Integrations Library.
Find the LiveSwitch card and select Manage.
Log in to your LiveSwitch account by clicking the Log in to Get Started button or create one using the Create an Account button. This will automatically enable the LiveSwitch toggle.
Grant access to sales agents or schedulers who need to conduct LiveSwitch survey calls:
Enable communication templates by going to Settings > Communication > Email/SMS Templates.
Scroll until you see the section title LiveSwitch and turn on any templates you may need.

Using LiveSwitch
LiveSwitch allows you to conduct virtual video surveys with your customers directly through SmartMoving. Once you're signed in, LiveSwitch becomes available as a survey type when scheduling a survey.
Before You Start
Make sure the customer has:
A valid phone number and email address on file.
This ensures they’ll receive LiveSwitch invitations via SMS or email.You can do this in the customer's opportunity and click into the Estimate tab.
How to Schedule a LiveSwitch Survey
Go to the customer’s opportunity
Navigate to the Estimate tab.Scroll to the Survey card
On the right-hand side of the Estimate page, click Schedule.
The Schedule Survey & Box Deliveries screen will open.
From here, you can choose to either meet now or schedule the survey for later.
How to Immediately Conduct a LiveSwitch Survey
To conduct the survey right away:
Choose the customer’s email address and/or SMS number.
Click Send Invite.
💡 Both you and the customer will receive a "Join Now" link that launches the LiveSwitch survey call instantly.
SmartTip:
You can also join the call directly from the Estimate Editor page, no need to copy/paste links from your email.
How to Schedule a LiveSwitch Survey for Later
To schedule for a future time:
Set the survey date.
Check Show LiveSwitch Estimators to filter for team members with access.
Hover over an available time slot under an estimator’s name and click + Add Event.
In the Create Survey window:
Select the event type
Set the start time and duration
Choose recipients for the meeting invitation
Add any notes
Click Add Event to finish.
Joining a LiveSwitch Survey Call
Customers will be reminded of the survey with a link to join both 24 hours and one hour prior, thanks to the communication templates you enabled. If the estimator/salesperson logs into the LiveSwitch survey prior to the customer, they will receive a notification with a link to join the survey call.
At the time of the scheduled survey, the estimator can access it through the invitation that they received, or they can scroll down to the Survey card within the customer's estimate, click on the three dots next to the LiveSwitch card, and select Start Survey.
Note: If the estimator/salesperson is not logged in to LiveSwitch prior to starting the survey, they will be prompted to enter their LiveSwitch credentials and log in before they can begin the survey call.
Request a LiveSwitch Inventory Video (No Live Call Needed)
In addition to scheduling live survey calls, you can also request a recorded inventory video from your customer — no live meeting required.
Set up the sales template
SmartMoving includes a pre-built sales template called LiveSwitch Inventory Video Request, available in both email and SMS formats. You can find this under:
Settings > Sales > Sales Templates > Email/Text > LiveSwitch Inventory Video Request, or click here to go straight there.
You can:
Use the out-of-the-box template as-is
Customize the content to fit your brand voice
Or create a new template using the LiveSwitch Request Inventory Recording Link tag
Send the inventory request
Once your template is ready:
Go to the Sales tab of the customer's opportunity
Click into Email or SMS, and apply the LiveSwitch Inventory Video Request template
Send the message to the customer.
The customer will receive a link allowing them to walk through their home, record a video of their inventory, and submit it directly to you.
Once submitted:
The video will appear in the Sales Activity section of the opportunity
It will also be shared in the Crew App for your team to review — just like live survey recordings
This is a great option for customers who prefer flexibility or are unavailable for a scheduled call.
LiveSwitch – Shipper Experience Overview
Here’s what the LiveSwitch process looks like from the shipper’s side:
Recording Requirements:
Shippers must record for a minimum of 10 seconds.Recording Flexibility:
They can record multiple videos, pause between recordings, and take screenshots if needed.Automatic Submission:
Once they press Stop Recording, all videos and screenshots are automatically sent to the SmartMoving user with the LiveSwitch account.
⚠️ Shippers do not have the option to choose whether or not to send their recordings — submission is automatic once the recording stops.
After the LiveSwitch Survey
Once the video survey has been conducted through LiveSwitch, that activity will be visible within the opportunity or the Crew App. You have the ability to filter the opportunity's activity by Survey, which will show LiveSwitch recordings exclusively.
LiveSwitch recordings are viewable for the customer and all SmartMoving users within your company so that your crew can review it prior to the move.
How the Crew App Displays LiveSwitch Recordings
The LiveSwitch section in the Crew App is only visible when the integration is enabled. If it’s not enabled, the crew will not see this section at all.
Enabled View – Crew App Shows Survey Section
When the integration is enabled, the Crew App will display the LiveSwitch section for each opportunity. Depending on availability:
If a recording is available, crew members will see a “Click here to watch” link.
If no recording is available, the section will display a message indicating that no recording is currently available.
This ensures your crew knows whether a video survey is ready to review before the move.

When the integration is disabled, the LiveSwitch survey section will not appear in the Crew App.
