Accepting Debit Card Payments

Learn how to accept debit card payments in SmartMoving. Debit Card and Debit Card (Record Only) are available across the web app, Crew App, and Customer Portal with no credit card processing fee.

Overview

SmartMoving supports two debit card payment types: Debit Card and Debit Card (Record Only). Debit card payments do not incur a credit card processing fee, making them a lower-cost option for customers who prefer to pay by debit.


Accepting a Debit Card Payment

  1. Navigate to the payment section for the estimate, invoice, storage account, or crew payment.

  2. Click to Add a Payment.

  3. Select Debit Card or Debit Card (Record Only) from the payment methods list.

    • Debit Card processes the transaction through your payment gateway.

    • Debit Card (Record Only) records the payment without processing it through the gateway.

  4. Complete the payment details and confirm.

The transaction is recorded in payment history with the debit card payment type.

πŸ’‘ SmartTip: Use Debit Card (Record Only) when a customer pays with a physical terminal or another method outside of SmartMoving and you need a record of the transaction.


Key Details

  • No credit card processing fee is applied to either debit card payment option.

  • Debit card payments are available from estimates, accounting, storage accounts, invoices, and crew payments.
