Important:
The phone version is in beta through SmartMoving Labs.
It covers the work people most often need away from a desk, and it is not a copy of everything SmartMoving does at your desk.
More is being added over time. The full web app is always one tap away from your profile options, so anything the phone version does not cover yet is still available to you.
You can use SmartMoving from your phone's browser and add it to your home screen so it opens like any other app on the phone. The phone version covers the parts of SmartMoving people most often need away from a desk: your leads and follow-ups, dispatch, tasks, and your calendars.
This is separate from the Crew App your crews use on the job. You sign in to the phone version with the same SmartMoving username and password you use at your desk.
Before You Start
Available to accounts with the mobile experience enabled in SmartMoving Labs. Turning it on for your company requires admin role.
Works on iPhone and Android phones. Tablets and computers open the full web app instead, even if you use a link to the phone version.
On an iPhone, use Safari to add SmartMoving to your home screen. On an Android phone, use Chrome.
What you can see and do matches your permissions in SmartMoving. Enabling the phone version does not give anyone access to anything new.
Switch back to the desktop version
On a phone, SmartMoving opens the phone version automatically. To work in the version you use at your desk instead:
SmartMoving reloads the full web app on your phone. To come back to the phone version, tap your initials again and tap Mobile Site.
Your choice lasts for the rest of that browsing session. If you close SmartMoving and open it again later, your phone starts you on the phone version again, so switch from the same menu whenever you want the desktop version back.
Turn on the mobile experience for your company
An admin does this once for the whole company.
Go to Settings.
Select SmartMoving Labs.
Find the mobile experience in the list and turn it on.
Have everyone sign out of SmartMoving and sign back in. The phone version becomes available at the next sign-in.
Install SmartMoving on your phone
On an iPhone, using Safari
Open Safari on your phone and sign in to SmartMoving.
Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up.
Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add to confirm.
Open your iPhone's Settings, then go to Apps > Safari > Request Desktop Website and turn the toggle off for the SmartMoving site.
Open SmartMoving from your home screen.
Step 5 matters. If you skip it, the icon on your home screen opens the full web app sized for a computer screen instead of the phone version.
Note: Start in Safari even if Safari is not the browser you normally use. On an iPhone, adding a site to your home screen is something you do from Safari, and SmartMoving shows you Safari's steps whichever iPhone browser you are in. You can still sign in and use SmartMoving in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge on an iPhone; it is the home-screen icon that comes from Safari.
On an Android phone, using Chrome
Open Chrome on your phone and sign in to SmartMoving.
Tap Install when Chrome offers to install SmartMoving. If you do not see the offer, tap the three dots menu in Chrome, then Add to Home screen.
Tap Add to confirm.
Open SmartMoving from your home screen.
You can bring the install offer back at any time. Tap your initials in the top right, then tap Install SmartMoving.
Find your way around
The phone version has its own layout, so a few things sit in different places than they do at your desk.
Menu, the three lines in the top left, slides out your list of modules: Sales, Dispatch, Tasks, Job Calendar, and Office Calendar. You see the ones your permissions include.
Plus creates something new: New Opportunity, New Lead, New Task, or New Follow-up.
Bell gathers everything waiting for you into one place: Follow-ups, Tasks, New Leads, and Inbox. A red dot on the bell means at least one item is waiting, and a count sits above each option. Tapping Inbox opens a full page listing your messages, and tapping a message takes you to the opportunity it belongs to.
Search finds records from any screen.
Your initials in the top right open your profile options: Install SmartMoving, Desktop Site, and Logout.

On the Job Calendar and Office Calendar you can swipe left or right to move between days instead of tapping the arrows. On an opportunity, tapping a phone number starts a call on your phone.
Assign a job to a dispatch slot
Tap Menu, then Dispatch.
At the top right, check the branch selector and select the branch the job belongs to. Work in one branch at a time.
Use the arrows beside the date, or tap Today, to move to the job's date.
Tap the slot you want the job on. The slot expands to show its resources and jobs.
In the slot's header, tap the briefcase icon.
The Manage Jobs panel opens, showing the slot's name in the heading.
Scroll to Unassigned Jobs. Each row shows the job number, the customer's name, and the arrival window.
Tap the job you want to assign. It moves up to Current Jobs for that slot.
Close the panel to go back to the schedule.
To take a job off a slot: open the same Manage Jobs panel by clicking on the briefcase and tap the red × beside the job under Current Jobs.
Note:
The gear, briefcase, and trash icons appear only while a slot is expanded. Tap the slot first.
Unassigned Jobs lists the jobs on the selected date, for the branches you have selected, that are not on a slot yet. When every job is on a slot, it reads "All jobs are assigned."
Assigning and removing take effect as soon as you tap. There is no save step.
Key Details
The phone version runs on phones. On a tablet or a computer, SmartMoving opens the full web app.
The phone version works in any phone browser. Adding SmartMoving to your home screen is done from Safari on an iPhone and from Chrome on an Android phone.
The phone version includes Sales, Dispatch, Tasks, and your calendars. Everything else in SmartMoving stays in the full web app, which you can reach from your phone at any time.
Your permissions carry over exactly as they are at your desk. If you do not have permission for Sales, Dispatch, Tasks, or Calendars, your menu is empty and SmartMoving tells you there is nothing available to show.
Choosing Desktop Site lasts for your current browsing session. Closing SmartMoving and opening it again from your home screen returns you to the phone version.
Best Practices
Add SmartMoving to your home screen rather than working from a browser tab, so it opens in one tap and fills the screen.
On an iPhone, do the home-screen setup in Safari even if you normally use another browser, then open SmartMoving from the home-screen icon from then on.
Sign out and back in after an admin turns the mobile experience on, otherwise your phone keeps loading the full web app.
On an iPhone, turn off Request Desktop Website during setup rather than waiting until something looks wrong.
Switch to the full web app for detailed work such as building an estimate, and keep the phone version for checking and updating work in progress.
Troubleshooting
I would rather use the version I am used to.
Tap your initials in the top right corner, then tap Desktop Site. SmartMoving reloads the version you use at your desk. Your choice lasts for that browsing session, so if you open SmartMoving again later and land on the phone version, switch again from the same menu.
I switched to the desktop version and now I am back on the phone version.
The choice applies to one browsing session. Closing SmartMoving and opening it again starts you on the phone version. Tap your initials and tap Desktop Site again.
The icon on my home screen opens the computer version.
On an iPhone, open Settings > Apps > Safari > Request Desktop Website and turn the toggle off for the SmartMoving site, then open SmartMoving from your home screen again.
I use Chrome, Firefox, or Edge on my iPhone.
Sign in and use SmartMoving in whichever browser you prefer. To get the SmartMoving icon on your home screen, open SmartMoving in Safari and follow the iPhone steps above. The instructions SmartMoving shows you are Safari's, so they will only match what you see if you are in Safari.
I am seeing the computer version in a browser other than Safari.
That browser is set to request the desktop version of websites. Turn that setting off in the browser's own menu for the SmartMoving site, then reload.
My phone still shows the full web app after an admin turned the mobile experience on.
Sign out of SmartMoving and sign back in. Your phone picks up the change at the next sign-in.
Chrome never offers to install SmartMoving.
On an Android phone, SmartMoving may already be installed, or the offer may have been dismissed. Tap your initials in the top right, then tap Install SmartMoving. On an iPhone, no browser offers to install for you, so use the Safari steps above.
My menu is empty.
Your account does not have permission for Sales, Dispatch, Tasks, or Calendars. An admin can review your permissions in Settings.
I am on a tablet and only see the full web app.
The phone version runs on phones. On a tablet, use the full web app.
