Important:
Dark Mode is in beta through SmartMoving Labs.
Dark Mode is a personal choice. An admin makes it available to the company, and then each person turns it on for their own login.
Some screens still appear in the light color scheme while Dark Mode is in beta. More coverage is being added over time.
Dark Mode gives SmartMoving a dark color scheme in your browser. You choose it for yourself from your profile options, the toggle takes effect right away, and SmartMoving remembers your choice for the next time you sign in.
Before You Start
Available to accounts with Dark Mode enabled in SmartMoving Labs. Turning it on for your company requires admin role.
Everyone on your team chooses Dark Mode for themselves. Your choice applies to your login only.
Dark Mode applies to SmartMoving in your browser. The Crew App and the Customer Portal keep their own appearance.
Dark Mode changes how SmartMoving looks. It does not change your permissions, your data, or what you can do.
Make Dark Mode available to your company
An admin does this once for the whole company.
Go to Settings.
Select SmartMoving Labs.
Find Dark Mode in the list and turn the toggle on.
SmartMoving reloads the page so the change takes effect.
Everyone else on your team sees the Dark Mode toggle in their profile options after they refresh SmartMoving or sign in again.
Note: Turning Dark Mode on in SmartMoving Labs does not change anyone's screen. It adds the Dark Mode toggle to each person's profile options so they can choose for themselves.
Switch your own screen to Dark Mode
Select your initials in the top right.
Turn the Dark Mode toggle on. SmartMoving switches to the dark color scheme as soon as you tap the toggle, and there is no save step.
To go back to the light color scheme, open the same menu and turn the Dark Mode toggle off.
Your choice is saved to your SmartMoving user, so it comes with you when you sign in on another computer or in another browser.
Remove Dark Mode from your company
An admin can take Dark Mode back out of SmartMoving Labs for everyone.
Go to Settings, then SmartMoving Labs.
Turn the Dark Mode toggle off.
Select Disable to confirm.
The Dark Mode toggle comes out of everyone's profile options, and your team works in the light color scheme.
Key Details
The Dark Mode toggle appears in your profile options while Dark Mode is enabled for your company in SmartMoving Labs.
Each person's color scheme is their own. Two people signed in to the same company can work in different color schemes at the same time.
Your color scheme follows your SmartMoving login rather than the computer you are on.
Some screens and areas still appear in the light color scheme while Dark Mode is in beta.
What your customers see stays the same. Dark Mode applies to SmartMoving as your team uses it, and it does not change the Customer Portal or the documents and emails your customers receive.
Dark Mode and the Crew App are separate. Your crews' screens are unaffected by your choice.
Best Practices
Give Dark Mode a few days of real work before deciding, so you see the screens your role uses most.
Turn the toggle off for yourself if a screen you work in constantly is hard to read, rather than having an admin remove Dark Mode for the whole company.
Let your team know when you turn Dark Mode on in SmartMoving Labs, so they know the toggle is theirs to use.
Troubleshooting
I do not see Dark Mode in my profile options.
Dark Mode is not enabled for your company yet. An admin turns it on in Settings > SmartMoving Labs. If an admin just turned it on, refresh SmartMoving, or sign out and sign back in.
An admin turned Dark Mode on and my screen still looks light.
Each person chooses their own color scheme. Select your initials in the top right and turn the Dark Mode toggle on.
A screen still looks light after I turned Dark Mode on.
Refresh the page. Some screens still appear in the light color scheme while Dark Mode is in beta.
Something is hard to read in Dark Mode.
Turn the Dark Mode toggle off in your profile options to go back to the light color scheme.
My teammate's SmartMoving is dark and mine is not.
That is expected. Dark Mode is set per person, so your teammate turned it on for their own login.
I turned Dark Mode on at my desk and my other computer is still light.
Sign out and sign back in on that computer. Your color scheme loads with your user at sign-in.
