Overview
Adding tags to an opportunity highlights requirements like VIP customers or piano moves, so dispatchers can assign the right resources to the job. You can select several tags at once from the tag dropdown on the opportunity's Estimate tab, and remove them when they no longer apply.
Apply one or more tags to an opportunity from its Estimate tab.
Select several tags in one visit, since the tag dropdown stays open.
Remove a tag from the dropdown or from its chip on the Tags row.
Before You Start
Tags must exist in your settings before you can apply them to an opportunity. The available tags come from Settings, then Estimate Lists, then Tags.
Applying or removing tags on an opportunity requires access to edit that opportunity.
Adding or editing the available tags in Settings requires an admin role.
Adding tags to an opportunity
Apply one or more tags to an opportunity from its Estimate tab. The tag dropdown stays open while you select, so you can add several tags in one visit.
Open the opportunity and click the Estimate tab.
In the Information section, find the Tags row and click the Add icon (the plus/+ icon). The tag dropdown opens.
Review the list. Tags already applied to the opportunity appear selected.
Select each tag you want to apply. The dropdown stays open, so you can select as many tags as you need without reopening it.
To find a specific tag, type in the Search tags box or scroll the list. If no tag matches your search, the dropdown shows No matches found.
Click outside the dropdown to close it. SmartMoving applies all of your selected tags to the opportunity at once, and the tags appear as chips on the Tags row.
Note: SmartMoving applies your selections when you close the tag dropdown, not as you click each tag. No confirmation message appears. The tag chips on the Tags row update to show what is applied.
Removing tags from an opportunity
Remove a tag from an opportunity in two ways, both from the opportunity's Estimate tab.
From the tag dropdown: in the Information section, click the Tags Add icon to open the dropdown, deselect the tag, then click outside the dropdown to close it. SmartMoving removes the deselected tag from the opportunity.
From the tag chip: on the Tags row, click the x on the tag you want to remove. SmartMoving removes that tag from the opportunity.
Customize your tags
The list of tags available on an opportunity comes from your settings. To add a new tag or edit an existing one, go to Settings, then Estimate Lists, then Tags. Tags you create there appear in the tag dropdown on every opportunity's Estimate tab.
Best Practices
Create tags for recurring needs your team dispatches around, such as "VIP", "Piano Move", or "High Rise".
Select all the tags an opportunity needs in one visit to the dropdown, since the tag dropdown stays open for multiple selections.
Keep tag names short and consistent so dispatchers can scan them quickly.
Check the tag chips on the Tags row after you close the dropdown, since SmartMoving applies selections when the dropdown closes.
Troubleshooting
The tag I want is not in the dropdown.
The tag has not been created. Go to Settings, then Estimate Lists, then Tags, and create the tag. It will then appear in the tag dropdown on the opportunity's Estimate tab.
My tag selections did not save.
SmartMoving applies selections when you close the tag dropdown. Reopen the dropdown from the Tags Add icon in the Information section, confirm the tags are selected, then click outside the dropdown to close it.
The x on a tag chip does not remove it.
Removing tags requires access to edit the opportunity. If the tag chips are read-only, you may be on the accounting view, where tags cannot be changed. Open the opportunity's Estimate tab to apply or remove tags.
