Due to the 10DLC regulations, all SmartMoving clients need to register their phone numbers for SMS messaging. The phone number that needs to be registered is the number that is used to send SMS messages from SmartMoving. If your SmartMoving account has multiple SMS numbers each number will need to be registered.

What is 10DLC?

10DLC stands for "ten-digit long code". This ten-digit long code describes most local numbers which is the most commonly used phone number for sending SMS messages. All 10DLC phone numbers that are used to send SMS messages need to be fully registered by August 31, 2023. If a phone number is not registered by August 31st, then you will not be able to send SMS messages from SmartMoving to your customers.

Why Must You Register Your Number?

Phone carriers have created the 10DLC and the Campaign Registry to enforce requirements on those using local phone numbers. The carriers are liable for any unwarranted and unwanted messages on their network. The Campaign Registry verifies and monitors companies that use the A2P 10DLC to message customers to ensure they are complying with their rules.

Registering your number is extremely important to ensure that your day-to-day operations continue to run smoothly. To avoid our clients from having any interruptions in their SMS messaging, we are asking all clients to register their SMS phone numbers. 10DLC registration will give your messages a higher throughput, decrease spam filtering, and increase deliverability.

Where Do I Register?

You can register your 10DLC phone numbers right in SmartMoving. Each morning when you log into SmartMoving, a modal will populate. From this modal, you can click Register Now and be brought to the registration page. This modal will populate for all users that have access to the Settings module.

You can also access the registration page at any time by navigating to Settings -> Company Settings -> SMS Campaigns.

If once your registration has been submitted there are any issues with your registration, your CSM will contact you to get your submission corrected.

How Can My Clients Opt-In to Receive Text Messages?

You can receive consent from your customers to receive SMS messages from your company in any format that you would like. For more information about Opt-In options for your Quote Form visit this article in our Help Center, Quote Form Opt-in Changes for 10DLC.
