Overview
Admins now have the ability to set specific permissions for crew members in the SmartMoving Crew Application, providing greater flexibility and control over their actions in the field. This feature is part of our beta release aimed at enhancing user experience based on feedback.
How to Set Permissions
Navigate to Settings > Dispatch > Crew App Permissions or click here to go directly to the page.
Adjust the permissions for each crew role based on your operational needs.
Note: The roles that show up in the columns titled to the right of ‘Modules’ depend on which Crew Roles you have enabled in the ‘Common’ dispatch settings. |
Permissions Overview

Can Confirm Availability and View Schedule Only | Allows crew members to view upcoming jobs. |
Can Waive Credit Card Fees | Grants permission to waive credit card fees for customers. |
Can Add Valuation Charges | Enables crew to sell valuation charges. |
Can Start Job Prior To Collecting Contract Signatures | Allows crew members to begin work before collecting digital signatures, if enabled by the admin. Currently, the app already allows crew members to start the job clock before collecting signatures. However, this permission can be disabled for companies requiring signatures to be collected first. |
Can Edit Stop Addresses | Grants the ability to modify stop locations directly within the app. |
Empowers crew to make real-time stop adjustments during a job, such as adding or removing stops as needed. | |
Can Take Payments | Authorizes crew members to process payments directly through the app for jobs. |
Can Refund Payment | Permits credit card refunds directly through the app. |
Can Complete Job and Carry the Balance | Permits completion of jobs with balances carried over for office resolution or multi-day job payments. Useful for multiple related jobs, this enables a single payment collection at the end of all jobs, such as packing, loading, moving, and unloading, instead of after each job. |
Can Adjust Resources and Update the Rate | Allows crew to modify assigned resources and rates directly in the app. |
Can Manage Bottom Line Discounts | Permits applying and modifying discounts on specific line items. |
Can Add and Edit Bottom Line Discount | Allows crew to apply an overall discount to the total cost. |
Can View Customer Contact Information After a Job Has Been Completed | Provides access to customer contact details post-completion. |
