Unfortunately, it is unlikely that any moving company will book every single job that they quote. For that reason, if a lead or opportunity slips away, you can mark it as lost in SmartMoving and track why it was lost.

Note: Any lead or quoted job can be marked as lost up until it is booked. Once a job is booked, if the opportunity falls through, it would need to be canceled.

Marking a Lead as Lost

You are able to mark a lead or opportunity as lost from both the sales tab and the estimate tab.

Mark the Lead as Lost from the Sales Tab

Click the drop-down menu next to the smart action button and select Mark Lost.

Mark the Lead as Lost from the Estimate Tab

Click the drop-down menu next to the smart action button and select Mark Lost.

Then, select a reason for why the opportunity was lost and click Mark Lost.

Adding / Managing Lost Reasons

You can add or edit options for why a lead was lost by navigating to Settings -> Sales -> Lead Lost Reasons, or click here to go directly to the page.

Viewing Lost Opportunity Reports

It's helpful to periodically review the reasons why leads are becoming lost. Reviewing the top reasons that losses occur can give you insight into potential process improvements that can be made internally so that more jobs are successfully completed.

SmartMoving provides two reports to give you insight into the overall reasons for lost leads and opportunities as well as details for each job that was lost.

Lost Leads & Opportunities Summary Report

In your SmartMoving settings, navigate to Reports -> Lost Leads & Opportunities Summary or click here to go directly to the page. This report is located under the Sales Reports section.

The summary report will show each of your lost lead reasons that were used during the time period that you select. The number of times each reason was selected and the percentage that each reason was used will also be shown in this report.

Lost Leads & Opportunities Details Report

In your SmartMoving settings, navigate to Reports -> Lost Leads & Opportunities Details or click here to go directly to the page. This report is located under the Sales Reports section.

The detailed report shows the total list of specific lost jobs during the selected reporting period as well as additional job data.
