Handicaps help you create a more accurate estimate by adding additional minutes or a percentage of time to a move for factors like stairs, long carries, snow, etc.

To view or create handicaps, navigate to Settings -> Tariffs -> Handicaps or click here to go directly to the page. All your handicaps are listed in the table below the default settings.

Create Handicaps

  1. Click New Handicap.

  2. Enter a name for the handicap (e.g., Broken Elevator, Snow, etc.).

  3. Select a category:

    1. Stairs: A time increase for staircases, spiral stairs, etc. per flight

    2. Walking Distance/Long Carry: A time increase for long carries per 25, 50, or 100 feet.

    3. Elevator: A flat time addition for elevators, broken elevators, etc.

    4. Other: A flat time addition for handicaps like snow

  4. Select whether minutes or a percentage will be used to add time to the move.

  5. Enter the value amount (i.e., how many minutes or how much percentage will be added to the move time for this handicap).

  6. Click Add New.

Set Default Handicaps

To change your defaults, click the visible option and select the handicap that you would like to set as the new default handicap.

These defaults appear in the origin and destination sections of an estimate or opportunity to allow you to quickly add the handicap to the stop.

To select a different handicap, click the default handicap and select the one you would like to use from the drop-down menu.

Note: Handicaps appear on the estimate, but they do not appear on the final charges accounting. This is because handicaps are only used on estimates to help provide a more accurate time estimate. The final cost is calculated normally based on the crew's start and stop times. Handicaps are also not included in the estimated time for distance-rated jobs.
