You can create a Wheaton-rated estimate in SmartMoving. This allows you to utilize the SmartMoving sales tools while communicating with one of your van line clients.

Create an Estimate

Step 1: Create a new opportunity. This needs to be an interstate opportunity that contains both an origin and destination address.

Step 2: Once you have selected save and close on the New Opportunity Wizard. A dialog box will populate where you must select which tariff to rate the opportunity with. Select the Wheaton tariff.

Note: The name field of the tariff is customizable, so your tariff may be named something else. Ensure that you select the TechMate tariff that is listed in the managed tariffs section of your tariff library.

Step 3: Select OK. This will then bring you to the estimate editor page for your Wheaton-rated opportunity.

Step 4: To make any adjustments to the estimate's charges select Manage Charges.

Step 5: From the Shipment Rating dialog box, you can make adjustments to the following items:

  • Pricing

  • Tariff

  • Valuation

  • Pack/Unpack

  • Additional Services

  • Bulky Items

  • Storage SIT

  • Agents

Step 6: Once your estimate is ready to be sent to the customer, select Send Estimate. The interstate Customer Portal will be sent to your customer. The portal is in the same format as an estimate from Wheaton. Our PDF estimate will also match the layout of a Wheaton estimate.

Next Steps

Once the customer has signed the estimate, the job should be completed through Access. To ensure that the revenue from this job is not pushed to QuickBooks, do not collect payment on this job, close the job, or manually sync the invoice to QuickBooks.
