What is Smart Marketing?
Smart Marketing is SmartMoving’s built-in email marketing tool that helps you create, automate, and analyze personalized email campaigns. Integrated with your CRM data, it allows you to target the right leads or customers with the right message at the right time, without needing any third-party tools.

Getting Started
Initial Setup
Before launching campaigns, complete these steps:
Configure Brand Settings
Go to Settings > Brand Settings.
Create a unique sender email (around 30 characters).
This email address will appear as the sender in all campaigns.
Wait for Contact Sync
SmartMoving automatically pulls leads and customers with unique email addresses into the marketing module each day at 8 AM UTC.
Campaigns
What is a Campaign?
Campaigns are emails sent to a group of contacts. You can send:
One-Time Broadcasts: Great for promotions, newsletters, or announcements.
Automated Sequences (Coming Soon): Automatically send emails based on triggers like move dates, job completion, or customer actions. Ideal for welcome series, follow-ups, or re-engagement.
Note: Automated Sequences are not available during the beta period. This feature will be included in a future release.
How-To: Create a Campaign
Steps:
Go to Smart Marketing > Campaigns.
Click Create New Campaign.
Choose between One-Time or Automated.
Select a previously saved Segment (who should get this email).
Pick or create an Email Template.
Set the Sender Email and Subject Line.
Choose to:
Send Now
Schedule for later
Click Send Test to preview, then Launch.
Tips:
Use merge tags to personalize subject lines.
One campaign = one segment. Make sure your segment is specific.
Segments
What is a Segment?
Segments define who receives your emails. These are dynamic lists based on your SmartMoving data.
Example Use Cases:
Cold leads who never booked
Customers scheduled for a move this month
People in a specific city or zip code
How-To: Create a Segment
Steps:
Go to Smart Marketing > Segments.
Click Create New Segment.
Use filters like:
Move Date
Job Type
Customer Status
Location
View the preview to confirm matches.
Click Save and name your segment.
Tips:
Start with a narrow group for better targeting.
SmartMoving uses the most recent opportunity when filtering contacts.
Templates
Why Use Templates?
Templates let you quickly design emails with reusable layouts and consistent branding.
Take advantage of SmartMoving’s professionally designed templates as a starting point. Just add your own logo, colors, and content to make them your own.
SmartMoving provides a drag-and-drop editor and merge tags to personalize emails without needing any design experience.
How-To: Create a Template
Steps:
Go to Smart Marketing > Templates.
Click Create New Template.
Choose a layout from the template gallery or start from scratch.
Drag content blocks (text, image, button, divider) into your layout.
Add personalization using merge tags like:
{{FirstName}}
{{MoveDate}}
Apply your brand colors, fonts, and upload your logo.
Click Send Test to preview how the email looks on desktop and mobile.
Save your template for reuse in campaigns.
Tips:
Keep design mobile-friendly (short paragraphs, large CTA buttons).
Use branded headers and clear CTAs like “Schedule Your Estimate” or “See Availability”.
