Overview
The Pay Commission to Valuation Seller setting lets you credit valuation commission directly to the person who sold the valuation on each opportunity. This can be a sales rep or a crew member. When this setting is off, valuation commission follows your default commission rules.
Before You Start
You need administrative access to Settings > Sales > Common to enable this toggle.
The person who sold the valuation must have valuation commission enabled on their user profile. If they do not, no valuation commission amount is generated for that opportunity.
How To Do It
Go to Settings > Sales > Common.
Find the Pay Commission to Valuation Seller toggle. It is off by default.
Turn on the toggle. The page saves your selection.
From this point forward, SmartMoving identifies who sold the valuation for each opportunity and credits the valuation commission to that person.
To verify commission amounts, open the Sales Commission Details report. The report reflects the updated payout based on this setting.
Note: If the toggle is off, valuation commission continues to follow your existing default commission rules. Turning the toggle back off restores the default behavior for future opportunities.
Best Practices
Before enabling this setting, confirm that all users who sell valuations have valuation commission turned on in their user profiles. If a user does not have valuation commission enabled, no valuation commission is generated for their opportunities, even when this toggle is on.
Review the Sales Commission Details report after enabling this setting to confirm that commission amounts are calculating correctly for recent opportunities.
Troubleshooting
No valuation commission is showing for an opportunity even though the toggle is on.
Check whether the user who sold the valuation has valuation commission enabled on their profile. Navigate to Settings, open User Management, select the user, and go to the Commission tab to verify.
Commission amounts look the same as before.
Make sure the toggle is saved and enabled in Sales Common Settings. The change only applies to opportunities going forward. Past opportunities are not recalculated.
