Regenerating Documents from the Opportunity Page

Learn how to regenerate estimates, invoices, and contracts from the Opportunity page to reflect the latest job details.

Written by Michelle Carone

Overview

You can regenerate documents directly from the Opportunity page to pull in the latest job data. Use this when you update pricing, job dates, or other details after documents have already been created. Regenerated documents replace the previous versions with accurate, up-to-date information.

Before You Start

  • Your user role must have the Can Regenerate Documents permission enabled. This permission is found under Action permissions in your company's user role settings. Admin roles have this permission by default.

How To Do It

  1. Open the Opportunity you want to regenerate documents for.

  2. Click Docs. A slideout panel opens listing all documents for the opportunity, organized by opportunity-level and job-level documents.

  3. Click Regenerate Documents at the bottom of the panel.

  4. A confirmation dialog appears. Review the message, then click Yes, regenerate. The system regenerates all documents for every job in the opportunity using the latest data. Documents that are in progress or already completed are not removed.

  5. When regeneration finishes, a success message appears and the document list refreshes automatically.

  6. Click any document in the list to open its PDF in a new tab. From there, you can download or print the document using your browser.

Note: To send a regenerated document to a customer for signature, click the three-dot menu (โ‹ฎ) next to the document and select Send Signature Request.

Best Practices

  • Regenerate documents after making changes to pricing, job dates, crew assignments, or other details that affect your estimates, invoices, or contracts.

  • Preview each document before sending it to a customer to verify the changes look correct.

  • If you manage multiple user roles, enable the Can Regenerate Documents permission for roles that regularly update job details.
