The SmartMoving WordPress plugin enables you to capture leads from your website and send them directly to your SmartMoving Account.

First, uninstall the previous version of the plugin, if any
If you have already installed an older version of the plugin, you must first remove it from your WordPress installation.

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin area.

  2. Navigate to the Plugins section.

  3. Find "SmartMoving WordPress Form" in the list of installed plugins.  If you don't see the plugin, then you haven't installed it.

  4. Click "Deactivate" to deactivate the plugin.

  5. Once the page reloads, find the plugin again, and this time choose "Delete" to remove the plugin.

NOTE: Deleting the plugin won't delete your settings.

Installing the Plugin

The SmartMoving plugin can be installed manually.  Our support team can provide you with the plugin package upon request.   The plugin will also be available via the official WordPress Plugin Gallery in the future.

Once you have the plugin package downloaded to your machine, follow these steps to install it:

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin area.

  2. Navigate to the Plugins section.

  3. Click "Add New" at the top of the page.

  4. This will load a list of featured plugins.  Click the "Upload Plugin" button at the top of the page.

  5. On the form that appears, click "Choose File," and select the SmartMoving plugin package from your computer.

  6. Click "Install Now" to install the plugin.

  7. On the success page that appears, click "Activate Plugin."

Adding your Provider

Now that the plugin is installed, it's time to configure it.  Go to your WordPress Settings menu, and choose SmartMoving.

The first thing you need is your website provider key.  This can be found in your SmartMoving settings.  Find the entry for "Your Website," and be sure that it is enabled.  If it isn't, click the toggle control to enable it.  You don't need to send instructions to anyone, so you can close the window that appars.

Once "Your Website" is enabled, click the "View Instructions" link.  A window like the one below will appear.  You will want to copy the provider key (and only the provider key!) to your clipboard:

You can then paste the provider key into your WordPress plugin's settings, and click "Save Changes:" Be sure you do not paste in the entire URL. You only need the provider key, which will be a random identifier formatted like XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX:

Adding Steps

The plugin allows you to define one or more steps for your form, and you can customize the fields on each step.

To add fields to a step, drag the field name from the list of "Available Fields" to the desired step.

You can add more steps by clicking the "Add Step" button.

You can also choose to place your fields into a single, multi-column step instead by changing the "Form Template" option from "Steps" to "Columns."

Configuring Actions

Now that you have defined the fields, all that remains is to configure what happens when the form is submitted.  We recommend that you enable the "Backup Email" option, and set the value to an Email address or distribution list for your company:

After a potential customer submits the form, you can choose to either display a customizable message, or to redirect them to another page on your website.

Adding the Form to a Page

The form can be added to a page via a shortcode.  Open the page you wish to add the form to in your WordPress page settings, then add a "shortcode" control:

In the shortcode control, enter the value [smartmoving-integration] (including the braces):

When you view the page, the SmartMoving lead form will be rendered in place of the shortcode.
