Smart Marketing offers three campaign types, each designed for a different communication goal.
Understanding how they work and when to use each helps you choose the right approach for your audience and message.
All campaign types use segments to determine who receives emails, and all include built-in unsubscribe and compliance handling.
One-Time Campaigns
What It Is
A one-time campaign sends a single email to a selected group of contacts on a specific date and time (or immediately).
Once the email is sent, the campaign is complete and does not send again.
When to Use It
Use one-time campaigns when you want to send a message once to a defined audience, such as:
Newsletters
Seasonal or promotional announcements
Service updates or policy changes
Event reminders or deadlines
Simple Example
You want to send a “Spring Storage Special” email to all customers who moved last year.
You create a segment for past customers, design your email, schedule it for next Tuesday at 10 AM, and send it once.
Automated Campaigns
What It Is
An automated campaign sends the same email repeatedly on a schedule to new contacts who meet your segment conditions.
Smart Marketing checks your segment on each scheduled run and sends the email to any contacts who qualify at that time.
When to Use It
Use automated campaigns when you want to ensure every eligible contact receives the same message, even if they enter your system later.
Common use cases include:
Pre-move reminders
Follow-ups before or after key move milestones
Ongoing outreach based on job status or dates
Simple Example
You create an automated campaign for “Customers with a move date in the next 7 days.”
Every day at 10 AM, Smart Marketing checks for newly eligible customers and sends them the same reminder email—without manual effort.
Drip Campaigns
What It Is
A drip campaign sends a series of emails to each contact over time, using delays between messages.
Each contact moves through the sequence individually, based on when they enter the segment.
When to Use It
Use drip campaigns when you want to deliver structured, multi-step communication, such as:
Lead nurturing sequences
Post-estimate follow-ups
Onboarding or post-move education
Simple Example
A new lead enters your “New Leads” segment.
They immediately receive a welcome email, followed by a booking reminder three days later, and a final follow-up a week after that—all automatically.
