Your brand is one of the most important ways you connect with your customers and SmartMoving makes it easy to keep it front and center. By uploading your company logo and customizing your branding settings, you’ll create a consistent, professional look across every customer touchpoint.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to:

  • Upload your company logo.

  • Choose the right display option for your logo.

  • Customize email appearance and footer details.

  • Update branding for the customer portal and storage pages.

By following these steps, you can ensure your customers always recognize and trust your brand from the very first click to the final signature.

Upload Your Logo

Elevate your customer's experience with your brand by adding your company logo to your SmartMoving profile.

By adding your logo, you will be able to ensure that your brand is front and center during each customer interaction. It will appear at the top of all customer facing emails sent from SmartMoving, all contracts and documents, and the online customer portal.

To set you company logo:

  • Navigate to Settings > Company Settings > Branding > or click here to go directly to the page.

  • Click Upload New Logo and select your logo from your computer files.

Important Notes:

  • Your logo file must be either a JPG or PNG.

  • For best quality, upload your logo with a transparent background. This will ensure that your logo does not have the default white background behind it.

Then, select a logo display option so that your logo appears correctly based on its length and height.

  • Portrait: Select Portrait if your logo is square.

  • Landscape: Select Landscape if your logo is rectangular.

Custom CSS Editor

For companies that want more control over the appearance of their Customer Portal, the CSS Editor allows you to apply advanced custom styling using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). This tool lets you customize layout, fonts, and colors beyond what’s available through standard branding options.

Before you begin:
The CSS Editor is designed for users comfortable with CSS. You can customize styles such as fonts, colors, and layouts.

❗️If you’re not sure how to use CSS, we recommend getting help from a web designer or developer.

Accessing the CSS Editor

  1. Go to Settings > Company Settings > Branding > or click here to go directly to the page.

  2. Scroll to the CSS Editor section, located below the Customer Portal & Storage Branding settings.

  3. If your company has multiple branches, you can manage CSS at either the company level or the branch level.

    • Company-level CSS applies to all pricing types across your company’s customer portal and storage portal.

    • Branch-level CSS applies only to the selected branch.

Using the CSS Editor

Draft and Preview Your CSS

You can test your customizations before publishing them live.

  1. Enter your code in the Draft CSS field.

  2. Select Preview CSS.

  3. Choose a job from the modal that appears (you’ll see the 10 most recent jobs for your company or branch).

  4. A new tab will open showing your Customer Portal with your draft CSS applied.

Publishing Your CSS

When you’re ready to make your changes live:

  1. Select Publish CSS.

  2. Review the confirmation message.

  3. Confirm to apply your custom CSS.

Once published, your changes will appear on your Customer Portal immediately.

Real Example of CSS Editor Usage: Adding a White Background Behind Your Logo

One common use of the CSS Editor is ensuring your company logo displays correctly on the Customer Portal.

Let’s say your logo file has transparent edges. On a light-colored portal header, it might look fine, but if your portal background is dark (or branded with a bold color), the logo can appear uneven or hard to read.

Before:
Your transparent logo blends into the background color, making it difficult to see.

After:
A clean white background appears behind your logo, ensuring it looks consistent and professional on every screen.

You can achieve this with just a few lines of CSS:

.brand {
background: white;
padding: 1rem;
}

💡 Tip:
Adjust the padding and border-radius values to match your design style.
Use Preview CSS before publishing to confirm how your logo appears across different devices and color schemes.

CSS Editor Best Practices

  • This tool is intended for users familiar with CSS. If you’re not comfortable writing CSS, consider working with a web designer or developer.

  • Always use the Preview option to confirm your layout and color changes before publishing.

  • Test your Customer Portal on different devices and browsers to ensure a consistent experience.

Related Options

In addition to CSS customization, the Branding page includes a Preview Colors feature.
Selecting Preview Colors opens a modal allowing you to choose a job and view your selected branding colors applied to your Customer Portal in a new tab.

By combining the color and branding options with the CSS Editor, you can create a truly on-brand experience that reflects your company’s unique style.
