On some occasions, you may want to cover the credit card processing fee for a customer instead of passing it along. SmartMoving allows you to waive the fee on individual payments when needed.

This is helpful in situations such as:

  • Resolving a customer service issue

  • Offering a one-time courtesy waiver

  • Adjusting charges for special circumstances

Where to Find the Waive Fee Option

You can waive a credit card fee at the time you take a payment in the SmartMoving web application.

Steps to Waive a Credit Card Fee

  1. Navigate to the specific moving job or opportunity.

  2. Click Take a Payment.

  3. Enter the payment details as usual.

  4. Select the checkbox to Waive Credit Card Fee.

  5. Complete the payment.

Once selected, the credit card fee will be removed from the customer’s total for that transaction.

Important Limitations

Please note the following restrictions:

  • Waiving credit card fees is only available in the SmartMoving web application

  • Payments taken through the Crew Mobile App do not include the option to waive fees

  • The waiver applies only to the specific payment being processed, not future payments

How Waived Fees Appear in Payment Totals

When a fee is waived:

  • The processing fee will not be added to the payment total

  • The payment record will show the fee as waived for transparency

  • The customer will only be charged the base payment amount

This ensures accurate reporting while giving you flexibility when needed.
