Setting Up Account-Level Rates

Learn how to configure custom rates for a commercial account in SmartMoving, including hourly rates, materials, transportation, and skill rates.

Written by Michelle Carone

Overview

The Rates tab on the Account Details page lets you configure a custom rate sheet for a commercial account. You can set hourly moving rates, packing rates, materials pricing, transportation fees, add-on services, and skill-based rates. These rates apply to all projects and jobs within the account unless overridden at the project level.

Before You Start

  • Available to companies with Smart Pro.

  • You must have Accounts permission.

  • The account must already be created.

  • If you plan to use skill-based rates, configure crew skills in Settings > Commercial > Crew Skills first.

How to Access Account Rates

  1. Open the account's detail page.

  2. Click the Rates tab.

If no rate sheet has been configured yet, you will see a prompt to copy a starting rate sheet from an existing tariff.

How to Set Up Account Rates

  1. On the Rates tab, select a tariff from the Select Tariff to Copy dropdown.

  2. Click Copy Rates.

  3. The rate editor loads with the copied rates as your starting point.

Note: Copying from a tariff creates an account-specific rate sheet. Changes you make here do not affect the original tariff.

Understanding the Rate Editor

The rate editor uses a left-side menu to organize rate categories. Click Edit Advanced Rates to access the full menu, or use the tabbed view for quick access to common rate types.
