Tracking Release Requests from the Storage Dashboard and Accounts Tab

Use the Release Requests card on the Storage dashboard and the Has Requests filter on the Accounts tab to find and act on pending release requests across all of your storage accounts.

Overview

The Release Requests card on the Storage dashboard and the Release Requests column on the Accounts tab give you a single view of pending release requests across all of your storage accounts. From the dashboard, you can jump straight into a filtered list of accounts that have pending requests, open any individual request, and review it.

Before You Start

Available to accounts using SmartMoving Storage.

  • You must be an admin or have a role with access to the Storage module.

  • If you don't see this option, contact SmartMoving Support.

Note: A pending release request is a request submitted by a customer through the Storage Portal that has not yet been turned into an opportunity.

How To Do It

Reviewing Pending Release Requests from the Dashboard

  1. Open the Storage module to view the dashboard.

  2. Locate the Release Requests card in the top-left position. The card displays the total number of pending release requests across all storage accounts. A tooltip icon provides a short description of what the count represents.

  3. Click View All Requests on the card. The Accounts tab opens with the Has Requests filter applied so the list shows only accounts with at least one pending release request.

Note: If no pending release requests exist across any account, the Release Requests card shows a count of zero.

Filtering the Accounts Tab by Release Request Status

  1. Open the Storage module and select the Accounts tab.

  2. Open the Has Requests filter.

  3. Choose one of the options:

    • Has Requests: Shows only accounts with at least one pending release request.

    • No Requests: Shows only accounts with no pending release requests.

    • Any: Shows all accounts regardless of release request status.

  4. The account list updates to match your selection. The Release Requests column on the far right shows the request count for each account.

💡 SmartTip: When the Accounts tab is opened from the Storage module sidebar, a deep link, or a bookmarked URL, the Has Requests filter defaults to Any. Set it to Has Requests to focus on accounts that need attention.

Opening a Release Request from the Accounts Tab

  1. On the Accounts tab, find the Release Requests column on the far right. Each account with pending requests shows a clickable link (for example, "3 requests").

  2. Click the request link for an account. The release request list opens for that storage account.

Working with the Release Request List

The release request list shows all requests for a single storage account. Each row includes the following columns:

  • Request — the request number (for example, #S1048-6).

  • TypeDelivery or Pickup.

  • SourceCustomer (submitted through the Storage Portal) or Internal (created by your team).

  • StatusAwaiting Review (pending review) or Moved to Opp (already converted to a job).

  • # of Items — the number of inventory items included in the request.

  • Requested Date — the date the customer requested for the delivery or pickup.

  • Destination — the delivery or pickup address.

  • Notes — a notes icon indicating additional details are attached.

Use the search bar at the top to search by request number, destination, or other details. Use the All Statuses and All Sources filters to narrow the list.

Note: The status filter uses different labels than the row badges. A request that shows the Awaiting Review badge is listed under Requested in the filter, and one that shows Moved to Opp is listed under Scheduled.

Click Review on any request with an Awaiting Review status to open and act on it.

Best Practices

  • Start your day by checking the Release Requests card so you can plan around the day's incoming request volume.

  • Use View All Requests from the card to skip manual filtering on the Accounts tab.

  • Set the Has Requests filter to Has Requests when you want to work through the backlog account by account.

  • Use the All Statuses filter on the request list to isolate requests that still need review, labeled Requested in the filter.

Troubleshooting

The Release Requests card shows zero but you expect pending requests. Confirm the requests were submitted through the Storage Portal and have not been converted to opportunities. Requests that have already been booked do not count as pending.

The Accounts tab does not show requests after clicking View All Requests. Check the Has Requests filter. If it is set to No Requests or Any, switch to Has Requests.

The Release Requests column on an account is empty. That account has no pending release requests.

You don't see the Release Requests card or column. Contact SmartMoving Support.
