Overview
The Inventory tab in a storage account includes a gallery view that lets you browse items as visual photo cards, so you can scan and identify inventory at a glance.
You can switch between list view and gallery view at any time. Your active filters and selections carry over when you switch.
Note: The customer-facing Storage Portal has its own gallery view, and view persistence behaves differently there.
Before You Start
Available to accounts using SmartMoving Storage. Requires admin role.
If you don't see this option, contact SmartMoving Support.
How To Do It
Navigate to a storage account and open the Inventory tab.
Locate the view toggle control on the Inventory tab toolbar.
Click the gallery view icon to switch from list view to gallery view. Items display as cards.
Each card shows:
Item thumbnail photo (or a placeholder if no photo exists)
Item name
Item note
Item status
Use the arrow controls on the card's thumbnail to browse additional photos for an item.
Click the checkbox on one or more cards to select items. The bulk action bar appears.
Click the list view icon on the toggle control to return to list view.
Best Practices
Use the All Rooms filter (visible when inventory has been organized into rooms) to narrow the gallery to a specific room, which is faster for locating items in large inventories.
Gallery view is especially useful for photo-based intake checks. Pair it with the status filter to spot items that still need attention.
Add a photo to each item during intake. Items without photos show only a placeholder in gallery view.
Key Details
List view is the default. The selected view persists when you move between storage accounts in the same session and resets on page refresh.
Switching between list and gallery view does not clear active filters. Your current filter selections apply to both views.
Gallery view shows 25 items per page.
Items without photos show a placeholder image on the card.
Thumbnails display as clear, square images and are not stretched.
Bulk actions work the same way in gallery view as in list view: select multiple cards and the bulk action bar appears.
