Overview

The Storage Portal storage account page has two tabs: Overview and Inventory. The Overview tab shows the customer's account details. The Inventory tab shows a complete list of all items in the customer's storage account, along with key details about each item, and tools to search, filter, and sort the inventory.

Before You Start

Available to your storage customers through the Storage Portal. Requires an account using SmartMoving Storage. Customers reach their inventory using the login link your company provides.

How To Do It

  1. The customer logs in to the Storage Portal using the link your company provides.

  2. The customer opens their storage account page.

  3. The customer clicks the Inventory tab. The tab label shows the total number of items once loading is complete, for example, Inventory (12).

  4. The customer reviews the items in the list. Each item displays:

    • Item name and description

    • Thumbnail photo (a placeholder icon appears if no photo is available)

    • Status (In Storage or Requested)

    • Number of damages recorded

    • Number of notes

    • Date the item entered storage

  5. The customer clicks any column header to sort the list by that column, and clicks the same header again to reverse the sort order.

Searching and Filtering

The filter bar above the inventory table narrows the list:

  • Search: filters by item name or description as the customer types.

  • Entered Storage: shows only items that entered storage on a selected date.

  • All Statuses: filters by In Storage or Requested.

  • All Rooms: filters by room assignment.

  • Show only damaged: shows only items with recorded damages.

On mobile, the customer taps the Filters button to open a combined filter panel with all of the options above.

Requesting Items from Storage

The customer can select items and submit a request to have them returned.

  1. The customer checks the box next to any item to select it. A bar appears at the bottom of the screen showing how many items are selected.

  2. The customer clicks Select all N items to select every item in the account.

  3. The customer clicks Request Items, then follows the prompts to choose a delivery or pickup option, a preferred date, and any notes.

  4. The customer clicks Submit. The request is submitted and a team member confirms the appointment details. Requested items show a Requested status in the inventory list.

  5. To clear the selection without submitting, the customer clicks Cancel.
