Overview

Set the logo and colors your commercial account contacts see when they sign in to the Commercial Customer Portal.

Before You Start

  • Available to companies with Smart Pro.

  • You must have permission to access Settings.

How to Set Company Branding for the Commercial Customer Portal

  1. Navigate to Settings > Commercial > Portal Branding.

  2. Select the Company tab.

  3. Upload your Logo.

  4. Set each color you want to change: Button Color, Button Text Color, Title Text Color, Banner Color, Banner Text Color, and Background Color.

  5. Click Save.

The result: contacts signing in to the Commercial Customer Portal see your company logo and colors.

Note: Company portal brand settings apply to all branches by default.

How to Set Branch Branding for the Commercial Customer Portal

Use branch branding when a branch operates under its own logo or colors.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Commercial > Portal Branding.

  2. Select the Branches tab.

  3. Select the branch you want to change.

  4. Upload a Logo and set the colors for that branch.

  5. Click Save.

The result: contacts on accounts belonging to that branch see the branch branding instead of the company branding.

How to Show Your State License Number in the Commercial Customer Portal

The Commercial Customer Portal footer shows your state license number when one is set. Set it once for the company, and override it for any branch that holds its own license.

How to set the company license number

  1. Navigate to Settings > Company Details.

  2. In State License Number (optionally incl. label), enter your number. Include a label if you want one to show, for example DMV: 123456789.

  3. Click Save Changes.

How to set a branch license number

  1. Navigate to Settings > Branches.

  2. Select the branch.

  3. In the Override Company Details card, enter the number in State License Number (optionally incl. label).

  4. Click Save Changes.

The result: the footer of every Commercial Customer Portal page shows the license number on the left and Powered by SmartMoving on the right. Contacts on accounts belonging to that branch see the branch number after they sign in.

Key Details

  • The Commercial Customer Portal uses six color settings: Button Color, Button Text Color, Title Text Color, Banner Color, Banner Text Color, and Background Color.

  • When no logo is set, the Commercial Customer Portal displays your company name as text instead.

  • Branch branding overrides company branding for accounts on that branch. Branches you do not customize continue to use the company branding.

  • Commercial Customer Portal branding is separate from your residential customer portal branding. Setting one does not change the other.

  • The license number appears in the footer on the sign-in page, on every page after sign-in, and on the invoice payment pages.

  • The footer shows the number exactly as entered, including any label you type with it.

  • When no license number is set, or the field holds only 0, the footer shows only Powered by SmartMoving, centered.

  • A branch license number overrides the company number for contacts on accounts belonging to that branch. A branch with the field left empty uses the company number.

  • The sign-in page always shows the company license number, because the contact's account is not known until they sign in.

  • On narrow screens, such as phones, the license number and Powered by SmartMoving stack and center.

Best Practices

  • Set company branding first, then override only the branches that genuinely differ.

  • Check the contrast between Button Color and Button Text Color, and between Banner Color and Banner Text Color, so text stays readable.

  • Upload a logo with a transparent background so it sits cleanly on your chosen Banner Color.

  • Set branding before sending portal invitations so contacts see your company identity on their first visit.

  • Enter the license number with the label your state requires, such as DMV: or USDOT, so contacts can tell what the number is.

Troubleshooting Commercial Customer Portal Branding

  • My license number does not show in the portal footer. Check State License Number (optionally incl. label) on Settings > Company Details. A value of 0 is treated as no number. Enter your actual license number and click Save Changes.

  • A contact sees the company license number instead of the branch number. On the sign-in page the company number always shows. After the contact signs in, the branch number shows only if the contact's account belongs to that branch and the branch has a number in its Override Company Details card.
