Connecting your website to SmartMoving is a key step in your onboarding process. This allows for any customer that visits your website and fills out your quote form, to have their lead submission information automatically funneled into SmartMoving. To protect your quote form, it is crucial to also put some form of anti-bot or anti-spam technology on your form.

Anti-spam technology is not necessary if you are using the SmartMoving iFrame Embedded Quote Form or the SmartMoving WordPress Plugin to connect your website to SmartMoving. All other methods of connecting your website need to be protected by a method of anti-spam technology.

Why is Anti-Spam Technology Important?

It is important to use an anti-spam technology in order to protect your website from internet bots. When an internet bot visits your website, they are simulating human activity to attempt to harvest information. If the technology is in place, it will protect your form from being attacked by an internet bot. Without the technology in place, your website will be at risk of being attacked and can lead to your Smartoving email being suspended.

What Anti-Spam Technology Should I Use?

Often reCAPTCHA or something similar is the technology we recommend for clients to use to protect their quote form. reCAPTCHA is a free service that protects your form from spam. The technology is able to tell the difference between a bot submitting a quote submission to your form and a human.

By adding reCAPTCHA to your form your customers will simply checkmark a box when submitting their information to you that verifies they are in fact a human and not a bot. To learn about reCAPTCHA visit this link: What is reCAPTCHA?.
