The SmartMoving Crew App allows your crew members to manage jobs directly from their smartphone or tablet. The application is available for download from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Before crew members can use the app, they must be granted mobile access. Learn more about granting access here: How to Grant Mobile Application Access.

Overview

Admins can configure role-based permissions for the SmartMoving Crew App, giving you greater control over what crew members can see and do while working in the field.

Permissions are assigned by crew role, allowing you to tailor access based on responsibilities and operational needs.

How to Set Permissions

  1. Navigate to Settings > Dispatch > Crew App Permissions or click here to go directly to the page.

  2. Adjust the permissions for each crew role based on your operational needs.

Note: The crew roles displayed in the columns to the right of Modules depend on which roles are enabled in Dispatch → Common Settings.

Crew App Permissions Overview

Below is a description of each available Crew App permission and what it allows when enabled.

Permission

If enabled, it:

Can Confirm Availability and View Schedule Only

Allows crew members to:

  • View upcoming jobs

  • Confirm their availability

If this permission is enabled for a role, all other permissions are automatically disabled.

Can Waive Credit Card Fees

Allows crew members to waive credit card processing fees for customers.

Can Add Valuation Charges

Enables crew members to sell and apply valuation charges during a job.

Can Start Job Prior To Collecting Contract Signatures

Allows crew members to begin the job before collecting digital contract signatures, if enabled by an admin.

By default, the Crew App allows the job clock to start before signatures are collected. This permission can be disabled for companies that require signatures before work begins.

Can Edit Stop Addresses

Allows crew members to modify stop addresses directly in the Crew App.

Enables real-time stop adjustments during a job, including adding or removing stops as needed.

Can Take Payments

Authorizes crew members to collect payments directly through the Crew App.

Can Refund Payment

Allows crew members to issue credit card refunds directly from the Crew App.

Can Complete Job and Carry the Balance

Allows jobs to be completed while carrying a remaining balance for office follow-up or multi-day job billing.

This is useful for related jobs, such as packing, loading, moving, and unloading, where a single payment is collected at the end instead of after each job.

Allows crew members to:

  • Add or remove crew from a job

  • Manage clock in and clock out times during active jobs

These changes flow through to payroll but do not affect job rates or pricing.

Can Manage Bottom Line Discounts

Allows crew members to apply and adjust discounts on individual line items.

Can Add and Edit Bottom Line Discount

Allows crew members to apply a discount to the overall job total.

Can View Customer Contact Information After a Job Has Been Completed

Allows access to customer contact information after a job has been completed.

Allows crew members to view documents uploaded to an opportunity from the Crew App.
