SmartMoving allows you to collect deposits using E-Check payments, giving customers a secure and convenient way to pay deposits directly from their bank accounts. To protect against unauthorized transactions, One-Time Passcode (OTP) verification is required for all E-Check deposit payments.

Before You Begin

  • E-Check payments must be enabled on your account.

  • Deposits must be configured on the opportunity or invoice.

  • Customers must complete OTP verification before submitting an E-Check deposit.

How Deposits via E-Check Work

When a customer chooses to pay a deposit using E-Check:

  1. The customer enters their bank account details.

  2. A one-time passcode (OTP) is sent to verify their identity.

  3. Once the OTP is verified, the deposit is processed securely.

The deposit is applied to the opportunity or invoice just like other deposit payments.

Collecting a Deposit via the Customer Portal

Deposits paid via E-Check are typically collected through the Pay Your Invoice portal.

Steps

  1. The customer opens the Pay Your Invoice link.

  2. The customer verifies their identity using an OTP.

  3. The customer selects E-Check as the payment method.

  4. The customer enters their bank account details.

  5. The customer confirms the deposit payment.

Once submitted, the deposit is applied automatically.

Security and Verification

OTP verification is required for E-Check deposit payments to:

  • Confirm the customer’s identity

  • Reduce fraud risk

  • Create a clear audit trail

This added step helps protect both your business and your customers.

Processing Time and Status

  • E-Check deposits may take several days to fully process.

  • Payment status updates automatically in SmartMoving.

  • If a deposit payment is returned or voided, SmartMoving will update the balance and notify users.
