Overview
Bulk duplication lets you copy one job or several jobs at once from a project's Jobs table. Each copy keeps the source job's service type and notes, and you assign a new start date and arrival window to every duplicate before saving. Use this when a recurring or repeat move needs to be scheduled across multiple dates without rebuilding each job from scratch.
Before You Start
Available to companies with Smart Pro.
You must have access to the Accounts module and the project that contains the source jobs.
The account or project must already have rates configured. Without rates, the project Jobs table will not let you add or duplicate jobs.
Each duplicate requires a start date and an arrival window before you can save.
How to Bulk Duplicate Jobs
Open the account, then open the project that contains the jobs you want to copy.
Scroll to the Jobs card on the Project Overview page.
Select the jobs you want to duplicate by checking the box next to each row. To select every visible job, use the checkbox in the table header.
When at least one job is selected, the table header shows the count (for example, 3 SELECTED) and a DUPLICATE action. Click DUPLICATE.
The Duplicate Jobs side panel opens with one entry per selected job, showing the source job number and service type.
For each job, click Select Start Date & Arrival Window and choose the date and arrival window for the new copy. The button label updates to show the chosen date and window once set.
Click Edit Notes on any job to review or update its Internal, Customer, Crew, or Dispatcher notes before saving. The notes are pre-filled from the source job.
When every duplicate has a start date and arrival window assigned, click Duplicate Jobs at the bottom of the panel. The button stays disabled until all jobs are scheduled.
SmartMoving creates one new job for each entry and refreshes the Jobs table.
đĄ SmartTip: You can also duplicate a single job from the row's three-dot menu by choosing Duplicate. That opens a single-job version of the same form with the start date, arrival window, and notes fields ready to edit.
What Gets Copied vs. Reset
Each duplicate is created from the source job, with these fields handled as follows.
Copied from the source job (editable in the panel before saving):
Service type
Internal notes
Customer notes
Crew notes
Dispatcher notes
Set per duplicate in the panel:
Start date
Arrival window
Reset on the new job:
Job number (a new project job number is assigned)
Status (the new job starts fresh and does not inherit the source job's current status)
Note: The duplicate panel only exposes the start date, arrival window, and the four note fields. Other job details such as stops, inventory, line items, and crew or truck assignments are handled on the new job after it is created.
Scheduling the Duplicates
Each duplicate is scheduled individually. There is no recurrence pattern, frequency setting, or "number of copies" control. To create several copies of the same source job on different dates, repeat the duplicate action for each date you need, or include that job in a larger multi-job selection.
When you click Select Start Date & Arrival Window, SmartMoving opens the standard schedule picker using the project's branch, so the arrival windows shown are the ones available for that branch.
The Duplicate Jobs button stays disabled until every job in the panel has both a start date and an arrival window. This prevents partial saves where some duplicates would land on the calendar without a window assigned.
Best Practices
Use the table's status filter to narrow the Jobs list before selecting, so you only duplicate the jobs you intend to copy.
Review and update notes per duplicate when the source job's notes contain date-specific or customer-specific text that should not carry forward.
Confirm the start date and arrival window for every duplicate before clicking Duplicate Jobs, the panel keeps each entry's schedule independent, so a missed assignment blocks the whole save.
