Overview
SmartMoving’s Pre-Move Survey Application allows users to complete inventory surveys directly from a tablet or iPad. The app is offline-capable and designed to streamline the survey process in the field.
Access to the Pre-Move Survey App requires an application license, which can be assigned to eligible users once available on your account.
Before You Start
Before assigning access, confirm that:
The user exists as an office user in SmartMoving
You have access to the Settings module
Your company has an available application license
How to Get a Pre-Move Survey Application License
If Your Company Already Has Available Licenses
If your company already has application licenses available, no purchase is required. You can assign the Pre-Move Survey App license directly to a user from SmartMoving settings.
If You Need Additional Licenses
If no licenses are available, you’ll be prompted to contact SmartMoving to add more.
Request additional licenses when prompted in SmartMoving
A SmartMoving representative will confirm pricing and next steps
Once added, licenses become available to assign to users

How to Assign the Pre-Move Survey App License
Once an application license is available, assign it to a user:
Go to Settings
Select User Management
Choose the office user who will complete surveys
In the Application Access section, enable Pre-Move Survey
Click Save
The toggle appears green once enabled. Assigning the license immediately grants access to the Pre-Move Survey App.
💡 SmartTip: If you need to manage app access for multiple users or review license availability, use the User Application Licenses page in Company Settings.
How to Download the Application
After a license has been assigned, the user can download the app to their tablet or iPad.
Apple App Store
Open the Apple App Store
Search for SmartMoving
Select the SmartMoving app listing
Choose SmartMoving Pre-Move Survey Application
Tap Get to download
Google Play Store
Open the Google Play Store
Search for SmartMoving Pre-Move Survey
Select the app
Tap Install
How to Log into the Application
Once the app is installed:
Open the Pre-Move Survey Application
Log in using the same credentials used for the SmartMoving web application
Begin completing inventory surveys

Best Practices
Assign Pre-Move Survey App access only to users who actively perform surveys to make the best use of available licenses.
