As your crew members are clicking the progress buttons in the Crew Application they are also, telling SmartMoving how much time to calculate for Drive Time or Double Drive Time. Drive time is calculated based on the time it takes for the crew to travel from the origin to the destination. In the state of California, hourly jobs are to be billed using Double Drive Time. Double drive time is the drive time it takes to travel from the origin to the destination. The time will be charged by the hourly rate and is included in the labor time.
Finished Loading
When your crew selects the "Finished Loading" button, this tells SmartMoving that they are leaving the origin. This is what then starts the clock for SmartMoving to begin calculating the drive time or the double drive time for the opportunity.
Unloading
When the crew selects the "Unloading" button, this tells SmartMoving that the crew has arrived at the destination where are they ready to unload the shipment. This then stops the drive time or double drive time clock. The labor clock will continue to run until the job has been completed, but SmartMoving now knows what to charge for the drive time or double drive time based on the amount of time that took place between the time the crew was finished loading the shipment at the origin and began unloading the shipment at the destination.
Adjust Drive Time
The crew has the option to edit the drive time once they have completed the job. After selecting Complete Job, the crew is taken to the "Confirm Times" screen. Here, they can tap on the drive time and adjust the time, if needed.
