How does my crew adjust the start and/or end time if they make a mistake?

If your crew enters the wrong start or end time for a job, they can make corrections in the "Complete Job" wizard.  The "Confirm Times" step allows the crew to adjust both the start and end time.  The crew can tap both the start and end times to make adjustments:

Why Can My Crew Not Set the Start Time for Later than the Current Time?

Fraud is a common problem in the moving industry, and SmartMoving's mobile application helps you combat fraud-related losses by preventing your crews from "shaving time" off the job.  

When the crew is starting a job, they are not allowed to enter a start time that is later than the current time.  For example, if the current time is 9:05 AM, the crew can enter 9:05, 9:00, or even 8:00 as the start time.  However, they cannot enter 9:10, 9:30, or any other time that is later than 9:05.  

Why Can My Crew Not Set the End Time Earlier Than the Current Time?

There is similar validation in place when the crew is ending a job.  If the current time is 4:00 PM, the crew can enter 4:05, 4:30, etc. as the end time, but they cannot enter any time that is earlier than 4:00 PM.

How to Deduct Time from a Job

If your crew forgot to clock out for a break, or if they forgot to stop the clock, they can enter a deduction during the "Complete Job" wizard.  To add a deduction reason the crew will click Add in the deductions section on the "Confirm Times" page.

The crew will then need to select the amount of time that needs to be deducted from the billable time and the reason for the time deduction. Crew members are required to specify a reason for the deduction.  This helps you monitor why crews are deducting time from jobs.  You can customize the time deduction reasons in your SmartMoving settings.

Adjust the Start and End Time from the Office

By navigating to the accounting section of the opportunity you are able to update the start and end time on the job if you prefer to make those adjustments for the crew members. To prevent changes from being made while the job is in progress, please update the job times once the crew members reach the invoice preview page on their applications.

There are two different methods for updating the start and end time from the office. You can either finalize the job from the accounting section or simply edit the job times and allow for the crew member to refresh their application to update the billable time from the invoice preview page.

Method 1

Step 1: Select Finalize

Step 2: Enter the Start Date and Time and the End Date and Time.

Step 3: Select Finalize.

Method 2

Step 1: Open the Job Time panel.

Step 2: Select Edit Times.

Step 3: Update the Start Date and Time and then End Date and Time.

Step 4: Click Save.
