There are several places in SmartMoving where you can search for various items. The search features allow you to easily locate an opportunity, lead, or storage account. Understanding which items will populate for the different search features will ensure that you are using the correct search feature based on your needs at the time.

Universal Search

The universal search in SmartMoving will allow you to track down any lead, storage account, or opportunity in SmartMoving. The universal search is located in the top right-hand corner of your screen to allow you to easily utilize the feature from any screen.

In the search bar enter a job number, phone number, email address, or a partial name. When searching by phone number, email address, or job number the search will return only exact matches for whatever you have entered. When searching by partial name, the search will return matches containing the letters you have typed in the order that you entered them.

The universal search will return the top ten most recent matches. This means that if you have twenty matches when searching for "Smith", SmartMoving will return the top ten results, based on the last date that you interacted with those customers.

When searching for a storage account, you can enter the storage account number, phone number, email address, or partial name of the customer. You also have the option to search by container number instead of by the customer.

Search Customers

From the Customer Module, there is a search feature that allows you to search for a customer. A customer includes anyone that you have created an opportunity for. The opportunity may be booked, completed, lost, canceled, or closed. A lead will not be listed in your customer list, only a lead that has become an opportunity. To search for a customer, you must enter their name in the search bar. The search will return matches that contain the letters that you have typed in the order that you have typed them. If you are unable to locate someone from the Customer Module, attempt to search for that person using the universal search. That customer may still be in the lead status and therefore, is not available from the Customer Module.

Search in Accounting

From the Accounting Module, you can search your jobs that are pending finalization, pending close, are closed, or all of your jobs as a whole. From the search bar, you can enter a job number, partial name, phone number, or email address to locate the job that you are searching for.
