Connecting Google and Facebook Business Accounts

Connecting your Google Business Profile and Facebook Business Page to SmartMoving is a required step to unlock public review management, listings updates, and social media features within the Online Reputation Management (ORM) tool.

This article walks you through how to connect these accounts and confirm they are successfully linked.


Before You Begin

To complete this process, make sure you have:

  • Admin access to your Google Business Profile and/or Facebook Business Page

  • Login credentials for the accounts you want to connect

  • Pop-ups enabled in your browser (connection windows open in a new tab)


Step 1: Navigate to Manage Accounts

  1. Log in to SmartMoving

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Select Marketing

  4. Click Manage Accounts

This page displays all supported platforms and their current connection status.


Step 2: Choose an Account to Connect

From the Manage Accounts page:

  1. Locate Google or Facebook

  2. Click Connect next to the platform you want to link

You’ll be prompted to begin the platform-specific connection flow.


Step 3: Complete the Platform Login

A new window will open asking you to continue the login process.

  • For Google, click Connect with Google

  • For Facebook, continue with your Facebook login

Enter your login credentials for the selected platform when prompted.

This step verifies your identity and allows SmartMoving to request the necessary permissions.


Step 4: Grant Permissions

After logging in, you’ll be asked to grant SmartMoving permission to access your business account.

These permissions allow SmartMoving to:

  • Pull in public reviews

  • Sync review responses

  • Manage listings information

  • Publish and manage social media content

Review the permissions carefully, then click Continue or Allow to proceed.


Step 5: Select the Business to Connect

Once permissions are granted:

  1. A list of businesses associated with your account will appear

  2. Select the correct business you want to connect to SmartMoving

  3. Click Add

The business list may take a moment to load. If you manage multiple locations, be sure to select the correct one.


Step 6: Confirm the Connection

After the business is added successfully:

  • You’ll see a confirmation message

  • The account will display as Connected on the Manage Accounts page

  • Your business name will appear next to the platform

At this point, the connection is complete.


Connecting Additional Accounts

You can repeat this process to connect additional Google or Facebook accounts by clicking Connect next to any unlinked platform on the Manage Accounts page.


Important Notes

  • Only business accounts can be connected (personal accounts are not supported)

  • Instagram and X (Twitter) connections are handled by SmartMoving’s Customer Success team and are not connected directly through this page

  • If you experience issues during setup or don’t see the correct business listed, contact SmartMoving Customer Support

  • Viewing and responding to public reviews

  • Automating review replies

  • Managing business listings

  • Creating and scheduling social media posts
