Overview

The web Descriptive Inventory report includes a room type filter that lets you narrow down inventory items by room. You can select one or more rooms to view only the items assigned to those rooms. This makes it easier to review specific sections of an inventory without scrolling through every item.

Note: The room filter only appears when the rooms setting is enabled for your account and the Descriptive Inventory has items mapped to rooms.

Before You Start

  • You must have access to the web Descriptive Inventory report.

  • The rooms setting must be enabled for your account.

  • The Descriptive Inventory must have items assigned to rooms. If no rooms are assigned, the filter does not appear.

How To Do It

  1. Open a Descriptive Inventory report from the web application.

  2. Look for the room type filter dropdown on the right side of the report.

  3. Click the dropdown. A list of available rooms appears. Each room displays the number of items assigned to it next to the room name.

  4. Select one or more rooms. The report updates to show only items from the selected rooms.

  5. To view all items again, select All Rooms from the dropdown.

  6. Switch between the initial inventory tab and any check tabs. Your selected room filter stays applied across all tabs.

Note: The room filter is multi-select, so you can view items from several rooms at the same time.

Best Practices

  • Use the item count shown next to each room name to quickly identify rooms with the most items before starting a check. This helps you prioritize your workflow.

Troubleshooting

The room filter is not appearing on my Descriptive Inventory report.

Check that the rooms setting is enabled for your account and that the Descriptive Inventory has items assigned to rooms. If neither condition is met, the filter does not display. Contact your administrator to verify the rooms setting.

My filter selection is not persisting when I switch tabs.

The filter should persist across the initial inventory tab and all check tabs. If it is not persisting, try refreshing the page and reapplying the filter.
