Overview
Commercial work in SmartMoving is organized in a three-level hierarchy: Account > Project > Job. An account represents the customer relationship, a project groups related work under a purchase order or scope, and jobs are the individual moves performed within a project.
The Activity tab gives you a running history of what has happened and who did it. It appears at both the account and project levels, and you can drill into any single job's activity from the same view. This makes it easy to answer questions like "what changed on this job yesterday?" or "who edited the rates on this project last week?" without leaving the account.
Level | Where Activity Appears | What You See |
Account | Account Details page > Activity tab | Activity for any job under any project on the account |
Project | Project Details page > Activity tab | Activity for any job within the selected project |
Job | Select the job in the Activity tab's job filter | Audit trail of changes to that specific job |
Note: Activity is scoped to jobs. To see a job's history, open the Activity tab at the account or project that contains it and pick the job from the filter.
Before You Start
Available to companies with Smart Pro.
You must have Accounts permission.
The account, project, and at least one job must already be created.
Account-Level Activity
The Activity tab on the Account Details page lets you review job activity across every project on the account. This is the widest view available and is useful when you want to audit recent changes without knowing which project a job belongs to.
For a general overview of the Documents and Activity tabs on the account page, see Account Documents and Activity.
To view account-level activity:
Open the account's detail page.
Click the Activity tab.
Use the Job filter at the top to select any job on the account.
The timeline updates to show activity for that job.
đĄ SmartTip: Use account-level Activity when a customer calls about a recent change and you're not sure which project or job the change was made on.
Project-Level Activity
The Activity tab on the Project Details page narrows the job filter to only the jobs in that project, which makes it faster to find the job you need when a project has many moves.
To view project-level activity:
Open the account's detail page.
On the Overview tab, click a project name in the Projects table.
Click the Activity tab.
The tab loads with the first job in the project selected. Use the Job filter to switch to a different job in the project.
Each activity entry shows:
The date and time the action occurred
The user who made the change
A description of what changed
Activity entries display in a chronological timeline, newest first.
Job-Level Activity
There is no separate Activity tab on the individual job detail page. To see a single job's full audit trail, open the Activity tab at the project (or account) level and select the job in the filter. The timeline that appears is that job's complete activity history.
Typical entries include:
Job creation and status changes
Edits to job information, dates, or service type
Changes to job pricing, rates, or charges
Assignment changes
Document uploads tied to the job
When a job has no recorded activity, the timeline displays a "No recent activity." message.
Filtering and Sorting Activity
The Activity tab provides two filters at the top of the timeline.
Filter | What It Does |
Job | Scopes the timeline to a single job. At the account level, the list includes every job on the account; at the project level, it includes only jobs in that project. |
Date Range | Limits entries to a time window (for example, last 7 days, last 30 days). Defaults to All Dates. |
Entries are sorted automatically in reverse chronological order, most recent activity at the top.
đĄ SmartTip: Combine a narrow Date Range with the Job filter when you're investigating a specific incident. Start with the last 7 days, then widen the range only if you don't find the entry you're looking for.
Note: The Activity timeline is read-only. Entries are generated automatically as users work in the system and cannot be edited or deleted.
