Need clarification on the various dashboard metrics and how they are calculated? Below you'll find an explanation for each dashboard widget and what data makes up those numbers.

Multiple warehouse configurations

If you have multiple warehouses configured, you will see a warehouse filter on your storage dashboard. Where applicable, ALL of the widgets below will also use the selected warehouse as part of the criteria when determining the data for each widget.

Dashboard widget explanations

Move ins today

Is the total number of moves you have coming into the selected storage facility for the current day. The number is determined by adding up the total number of active opportunities that include storage charges with a Move-In date of today.

The number of containers is calculated by using the estimated number of containers on the storage portion of the estimate.

Move outs today

Shows the number of booked outbound storage jobs that have an outbound date of today.

The number of containers is calculated by adding the total number of containers assigned to the storage account(s).

Move ins tomorrow

Is the total number of moves you have coming into the selected storage facility for tomorrow. The number is determined by adding up the total number of active opportunities that include storage charges with a Move-In date of tomorrow.

The number of containers is calculated by using the estimated number of containers on the storage portion of the estimate.

Move out's tomorrow

Shows the number of booked outbound storage jobs that have an outbound date of tomorrow.

The number of containers is calculated by adding the total number of containers assigned to the storage account(s).

Needs account

This metric is intended to warn you of any storage accounts that should have been created but for some reason have been overlooked.

This number is the total number of opportunities that have been booked and include storage charges with a move-in date less than or equal to today's date AND no storage account has been linked to the job (meaning no storage account has been created for this opportunity).

** Opportunities that have been canceled or lost will not count in this statistic.

Revenue widget

Shows the total month by month invoiced revenue for the prior 6 month period. Unpaid invoices are not factored out of this calculation. Expected this month Is the total of all created and pending invoices for the current month. This total also includes any one time or recurring unbilled charges.

Occupancy widget

Occupancy for each month is based on the total number of assigned containers on an active storage account divided by the total number of containers for the given month. Stats are calculated for each month based on the last day of the month.

** Important: Any container that is deleted from a storage account will not be counted as "assigned" in the statistics. Therefore it is advised when you close an account to leave the containers assigned to the account. Closing the account will free up the containers for use on new accounts but still track that they were in use at the time.

Aging widget

This is a pie chart breakdown of your total outstanding invoices in 30-day segments. The invoice create date is used to determine the age of the balance due on any unpaid invoice. Past Due is the total of all unpaid invoice balances.

Move ins table

Will show you all scheduled and outstanding move in's that were quoted for the active warehouse.

This lists any booked jobs that have storage charges quoted with a move-in day of today or the next 7 days. The table will include any historical jobs that have not had a storage account created. These show as "missing account".

Move outs table

Will list any booked outbound storage job with an outbound date within the next 7 days. If the customer associated with the outbound storage job has an active storage account, SmartMoving will automatically link the outbound job to the active storage account and the account information will be displayed along with the outbound job in the Move Outs section. In the instances where multiple warehouses are configured, only those storage accounts that belong to the selected warehouse will be displayed.

Any outbound storage job whose customer does not match an active storage account will show up in the Move Out section for any warehouse that is selected. A warning will be displayed on the table to indicate that an outbound job was booked, but no matching storage account was found. The storage account information for the outbound job will be omitted in this scenario.

If the outbound storage customer has multiple active storage accounts, SmartMoving will look at the estimated move out date on each active account and see if one of those dates matches the date of the storage outbound job. If one does match, that storage account will be linked to the outbound job. If neither matches, both storage accounts will be listed.
