The storage dashboard automatically shows all booked storage outbound jobs that have a move date within the next 7 days.

Important: When booking your outbound job be sure to select an existing customer when creating the opportunity. If you fail to select an existing customer, SmartMoving will not be able to link your outbound job to an existing storage account as the customer for each will not match.

Adding a Storage Out Bound job for an existing storage customer

Step 1: Click the Add icon and select New Opportunity.

Step 2: Enter the customer's name into the Name field.

Then, in the Possible matches list at the bottom, click the desired customer. It's important to schedule the outbound storage job for the same customer as the storage account is listed under to be sure the outbound job is automatically linked to the active storage account.

Step 3: Select the date of the service and Storage Out Bound as the type of service.

Step 4: Select the Move Size and Referral Source

Step 5: Enter the information for the origin and destination, and then click Save & Close to create the opportunity.

Step 6: On the estimate tab, click Book.

The new storage outbound job should now appear in the Storage Dashboard Move Out list.

Troubleshooting

The Move Out Does Not Appear on the Dashboard

If you have taken all of the above steps and the move out does not appear in the Move Outs section of the dashboard, ensure that:

  • The customer's storage account is active.

  • If you have multiple warehouses, be sure you have selected the correct warehouse from the storage dashboard drop-down list.

A Warning Appears Near the Move Out on the Dashboard

A warning may appear in the following situations:

  • If a storage outbound job is created for a customer who does not have a storage account. In this case, ensure that the customer name on the storage account matches the customer name on the storage outbound job.

  • If a customer has more than one active storage account. SmartMoving automatically links the storage outbound job with the customer's storage account. If there is more than one storage account, SmartMoving will use the customer's Estimated Date Out (located under the Customer Information tab on their account) to determine which storage account to link the storage outbound job with. In this case, the correct storage account must have an estimated move out date that matches the storage outbound job date.
